Eugene Roud

Eugene is an experienced property and commercial lawyer based in the Alexandra office of AWS Legal. He graduated from the University of Auckland with a Master of Laws Degree with First Class Honours in Corporate and Commercial Law in 2014 and has been with the firm ever since.

Eugene has a particular interest in property and commercial law, and has extensive experience in complex subdivisions, property and business acquisitions, leases, commercial documentation, financing, and agribusiness transactions. His approach to law is to make complex matters simple and concise, and to ensure that his clients’ expectations are met, no matter the scale of the transaction.

What sets Eugene apart is his accessibility, approachability, and accuracy. He prides himself on being able to communicate complex legal matters to his clients in a way that they can easily understand. He is also passionate about working with upcoming entrepreneurs and working with businesses or farms going through succession planning.

Eugene moved to Central Otago after falling for the place during his wedding ceremony, and has quickly become a fixture in the community. He enjoys working with a mix of business and rural clients and has worked on some of the key projects and transactions in the District. In his spare time, Eugene enjoys exploring the beautiful Central Otago environment with his family.
